One common critique is the occasional wait time during peak hours, especially on busy weekends. This can lead to a crowded atmosphere that some may find less appealing. A few guests have noted that the noise level can escalate during live music events, which might not favor those seeking a quieter dining experience. Others have mentioned limited kid-friendly menu options despite the presence of a children's menu. Lastly, while a wide selection is available, some diners hope for even more vegetarian and vegan dishes to cater to varying dietary preferences. These concerns don’t overshadow the overall positive experience for many, but are worth considering before a visit.
Cool venue, quiet at lunch. Fab gluten free food! Perfect calamari. Highly recommend I originally ordered soup and toastie on gluten-free bread. When I was informed they’d run out of bread I realized just how many gluten free options were actually on the menu. So I ordered their deep fried calamari and chips. Amazing!! Delicate batter, soft calamari and crispy chips. Vegan mayo for my dairy and egg intolerant sister too.
Popped in for lunch on a Thursday, pretty quiet, which seems odd for such a great place. Warmed up after a while. The food was delicious and good choice. Enjoyed the house ipa as well. Good selection of crafty stuff. Music for me was top notch as well, not often you get hear Joy Division in a pub.
Popped in for a light dinner and was very surprised, nice and warm on the coldest night of the year, very fast and friendly staff. Got the hallomi salad, which blew my mind. Wow. And the pushed pork and toast for a protein hit. Food and value were spectacular 👌 minor updates. Followed by a delious Liit cocktail 🍸
The finest dining experience in Derry. Came here for the jazz festival a few weeks ago and had to come back. The food is top tier and also very affordable, plus the staff go above and beyond to cater to your every need. Will definitely be back!
Amazing cosy dining experience in The Central Snug bar. Great beer and entertainment in the evening.
From folk tunes to standards like Springsteen, The Eagles, and Elton John, the music was so enjoyable! Great food (our hotel room didn't have a fridge, so I had to leave half my plate there!), and a large selection of whisky and beer on tap. The staff was warm and welcoming, as was the atmosphere. Thank you for making us feel welcome 🙂💕
We had or university Christmas party in the function room. The room was really decorated with tree and christmas decor. We were able to decide if we wanted 1/2/3 course each. We were able to pay separately which was really handy. The food was just delicious, we were all really impressed. We were able to have table service and they brought the card machine down with each drink which really helped too. There was live music in the main room too. Really recommend, thanks Maria and team
